As u/Vilify1 points out, it is very versatile since every weapon group tech has mods that can change the damage type to fire. So for now I prefer races that don't melt if the enemy gets too close.įor techs I like Promethean.

The only race I dont really like so far is The Vanguard, the have a boring look and I can't really get their overwatch schtick to work. The Dvar is currently my second favorite, but I have a feeling it may change. I think I may like The Assembly best, I love their visual presentation and I really like their tech focus and abilities. I haven't dug too deeply with all the factions yet, but I have played each race and secret tech for a few hours at least. The only negative of the Amazons would be that their T4 unit doesn't impress too much. Synthesis is the technology that has the least synergies with amazons, but at least they have ionic infusion to turn their biochemical weapons into arc damage, and prime-rank lancers are very strong with guardian daemon shells. Of the two remaining techs Psynumbra is just really well-rounded and works to at least a fair degree with all factions, amazons get some unique tricks with it that are interesting. Above I described why I think this is the case with promethean, but I also think they're the best faction for Xenoplague (split with Kir'Ko) since they have the biochemical weapon group as well as some of the best faction mods to put on the xenoplague units, especially blood fury inducers for Plague lords. In other cases they're just the best choice for the secret tech in particular due to how their mods combine. This is the case for celestian and voidtech, where they get harrier-mounted light bringers and lancer-mounted echo walkers respectively. In some cases it's because they have the most interesting/strongest variants of the secret tech units.

This is because they work really well with almost every secret tech, and I sort of think they're the best choice for many of them. It took me a while to warm up to them, but it ended up as the Amazons. Thirdly, and maybe most importantly, you can use phoenix bomb launchers on mounted units so you can put them on lancers, harriers, and tyrannodons, whereas everyone else has to put them on infantry.Įxamples of things you can do with the faction/tech combo: The amazon purifier is also the most interesting one, with its attacks penetrating cover and getting 8 range for the launched bomb due to visual acuity. They combine amazingly well due to the amazons' strong units with lasers. The faction I like the most with Promethean is Amazons. The promethean unit that's the best is probably the plasmoid, which can be made somewhat unkillable with mods like combat sensors. Promethean has been at its best when used with faction units paired with these mods. Promethean is awesome, and works with every faction because of its synergy with lasers and mods that change weapons to deal thermal damage like ammunition: fire burst and focus: flames.
